Rooted in our communities since 1938

At Mid-Iowa Insurance & Real Estate, we believe that doing business is about more than policies, properties and transactions. It's about people, relationships and being part of the communities we call home.

1938
Our roots go back to 1938, when Robert Dolezal established the insurance agency that would eventually become Mid-Iowa Insurance & Real Estate.
1966 to 1986
Over the decades, the business grew through new partnerships, expanded services and additional generations of leadership. Fred Dolezal purchased an interest in 1966, Tom Dolezal joined in 1969, and the agency merged with Kratoska Insurance in 1970. In 1986, the agency purchased Jim Kratoska's interest.
1994 to 2015
Terry Axman joined the agency in 1994, followed by Mike Franey in 2004, when Mid-Iowa Real Estate was established. Josh Axman joined the business in 2015, helping carry the agency's tradition of service into the next generation.
Today
Today, Mid-Iowa Insurance & Real Estate remains locally owned, with offices in Carroll and Jefferson, serving individuals, families, farms and businesses throughout west-central Iowa.

While much has changed since 1938, our commitment to personal service and doing what's right for our customers has remained the same.

Boards and coaching
Our owners and team members have served on local school, childcare, hospital, business and economic development boards. They have coached youth athletics, supported local organizations, volunteered at community events and helped raise funds for worthwhile causes.
Where we're involved
Our involvement includes organizations such as Carroll County Growth Partnership, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce, the Carroll Area Child Care Center, the St. Anthony Regional Hospital Foundation, and numerous school and youth athletic programs.
What we support
We are also proud to support local fire departments, holiday toy drives, charitable fundraisers and other community initiatives.
