Within the city of Carroll, there are numerous parks the largest of which is the Youth Sports Complex. With six baseball fields, a concession stand and picnic tables, the YSC is a local favorite. Graham Park, a nearly 20-acre park, offers many entertaining activities including a disk golf course, skate park, tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, amphitheater, and playground equipment. There is also the Sauk Rail trail, a 33-mile multi-purpose trail running from Swan Lake State Park (in Carroll) to Black Hawk State Park (in Lake View).

As for other entertainment in Carroll, there is a fantastic water park called the Carroll Family Aquatic Center that has two 41-foot tall speed slides, a drop slide, zero depth entry (perfect for those new to the water), a one- and three-meter diving board, and a basketball hoop. This aquatic center is great for summer fun! During the colder seasons, the Carroll Recreation Center provides plenty of activities including a swimming pool, basketball courts, free weights, a theatre and more.

Carroll has two 18-hole golf courses for the golf enthusiast. The Carroll Municipal Golf Course is a public golf course with watered greens and fairways. The Carroll Country Club is a semi-private club with a full time golf professional, practice facilities, restaurant and outdoor pool.
